Many double-emplodual-income parents in Tuen Mun District often have difficulties in taking care of their children due to long working hours or other reasons, which causes great worries and pressures. In view of this, Yai Oi Tong Education Services Division has been successfully funded by the Social Welfare Department to implement the Yan Oi Tong Neighborhood Support Child Care Project. Since October 2008, the project has provided emergency and flexible child care services for children aged under six in the district (and has expanded to children aged under nine since Oct 2014). Families with financial difficulties may apply for a fee-waiving subsidies.
